AI as a Second Perspective

How I use AI to support UX/UI design validation, explore alternatives, and challenge my thinking before making the final design decision.

AI supports the process. I remain responsible for the context, design judgment, validation, and final UI.

UX/UI Design Validation

I use AI throughout different parts of my design process to organize complex information, explore alternatives, and get a second perspective before finalizing decisions.

Requirement Breakdown

Break down client requirements and Japanese documents into clear design needs.

Feature Prioritization

Organize functions by importance, user impact, and dependencies.

Requirement Validation

Check information, identify missing details, and compare requirements.

Solution Comparison

Compare different UX flows, structures, and possible design approaches.

UI Exploration

Generate alternative layout and interaction ideas.

Design Review

Review existing UI and identify possible usability or hierarchy improvements.

Second Perspective

Challenge my initial design thinking before making the final decision.

From Requirements to Final UI

01

Select the AI Tool

After testing different AI tools, I currently use ChatGPT most often for UX/UI analysis, validation, and design exploration.

02

Gather & Structure

I collect information from clients, PMs, Japanese documents, internal references, and project requirements. AI helps me organize this information into clearer UX/UI requirements.

03

Prioritize

I use AI to help organize features based on: Primary vs secondary functions; User impact; Business importance; Dependencies; Implementation priority.

04

Review the Analysis

I review the AI-generated output and compare it with the original requirements. I correct inaccurate assumptions, missing information, or anything that does not match the project context.

AI output is always reviewed by me.

05

Explore UI Solutions

Once the requirements are clear, I use AI to explore: User flows; Information hierarchy; Layout possibilities; Interaction patterns; Alternative UI directions.

06

Validate & Compare

I compare the proposed solutions against: User needs; Business requirements; Technical constraints; Existing design system; Project limitations.

The final direction is selected based on the actual project context, not only AI suggestions.

07

Build the Prompt

After selecting the direction, I ask AI to convert the requirements and UI decisions into a structured prompt for Figma Make.

FIGMA MAKE PROMPT · EXAMPLE

Goal: Explore a clear task-management overview.

Structure: Primary tasks first, supporting details second.

Constraints: Follow the existing design system and show empty and error states.

Output: A layout direction for comparison—not a final design.

08

Generate in Figma Make

I use the structured prompt in Figma Make to quickly visualize the proposed structure and UI direction. This stage is mainly for: Rapid exploration; Layout testing; Visualizing ideas; Comparing possible directions.

09

Refine in Figma

I manually rebuild and refine the generated direction in Figma. I adjust: Layout; Components; Spacing; Typography; UX writing; Interaction states; Visual hierarchy; Design system consistency; Edge cases.

The final UI is manually reviewed and refined by me.
